Chanell DeNea' Hill
Who is Chanell DeNea’ Hill?
“My brand is about allowing my struggles, my triumphant, and my successes to speak to young women and youth. Having been working with youth since I was 20 years old, I didn’t understand why I had a connection with them. God had begun to show me that the things that I had been going through he was using them to help [my young mentees]. I call my youth my “little sisters”. I want to show young women that it’s OK to be just them – be uniquely and defined in you.
Chanell is in her last year at Dominica University for social work. She will also be launching her website, chanelldeneahill.com, as well as, finishing up her e-book “Young, Fly, and Daughters of the Most High.”
One of Chanell’s topics she likes to talk about with her little sisters is the “unseen disease” among the young women. “Unseen Disease” are issues, like soul ties and other things, that effect the emotional aspect of young women which usually show up in activities that are not becoming of them. She believes that young women are put on this earth for a purpose, they are uniquely created, they are called to be different. She encourages young women to be trend setters and set their own trends. She states, “We were created in God’s image and there is nothing ugly about God.”
We asked Chanell what is a strong woman in Christ?
“A strong woman in the body of Christ is gentle and meek – but this doesn’t mean she is weak. However, even in times of weakness she knows how to be quiet. She knows that she doesn’t have to be ratchet. She doesn’t always have to say what’s on her mind – she knows how to sit back and let God fight her battles. She’s mixed with love and support, has a big heart and she’s confident. One who uses her flaws and past to help others and herself to do their best. She also knows her weapons. A woman’s strongest weapon is prayer and her smile. A woman who smiles is able to change a person’s world.”
